Solcara software delivers a single intuitive interface that supports access to and searching across all essential internal and online information systems and services. Systems supported include legal information services to help improve efficiencies within the legal team, media resources to support the corporate communications teams, departmental and online resources to help improve the quality, consistency and speed of service across the entire department.
DEFRA, the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has already successfully deployed Solcara technology to underpin two key initiatives. The first of these is Wastenet, an online portal that supports the Government and other organisations in searching across multiple resources for Waste Management content and projects. One objective of Wastenet is to help the UK Government and those applying for funding to search and validate what projects have already been delivered and funded in the UK. Early identification of previously completed and funded projects saves the Government money and ensures that limited funds are awarded to new and innovative projects. The second initiative will deliver a similar online portal that focuses on delivering easier access to resources that deal with Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) . SCP is a key strategy for the UK and other EU Governments.
